My name is Paul Bokros. I graduated from The Ohio State University in Spring-1970. My degree was in Agricultural Education.
I now live in Minneapolis. Up until six years ago I lived in Ohio, most of it in my hometown of Westerville. When I lived in Central Ohio it was easy for me to attend events on campus. Now that I live in Minnesota I have come to appreciate how much our local Alumni Club means. I am also grateful for the Internet but I really appreciate my football weekends more when I can steal a little bit of Ohio and the game with the company of 50 to 100 Buckeye Fans.
Last year I started a web site ‘Buckeye Game Watch’ as a place to share the photos that I took at our ‘Football Saturday’ gatherings.
When I was talking to first time visitors, I always asked them how they heard about us. Also, when I am on Buckeye Fan Forums such as The Ozone, Bucknuts or Buckeye Sports Bulletin there are always entries that state “ I am going to be in __________, do you know where there is a good place to watch the game”. There did not appear to be a place to go to find out that information. Most Alumni are aware that Buckeyes are everywhere but not where they are on ‘Football Saturdays’.
Last year I wanted to make sure that anyone in Minneapolis that wanted to find our location would be able to. I tried to find locations on the web that listed where sites were. I could not find a site the was up-to-date and complete. I understand that because web sites are difficult to maintain. You have to really love something to keep it going.
I decided that I would host a site that would give that information. While I am an Alum and a Alumni Association member this site is not affiliated in any way with Ohio State or the Alumni Association. While our Minnesota Alumni Club sponsors the event it is for any Buckeye Fan that wants to attend.
